Bookings for permaculture courses now being taken.

Welcome

This website was set up to act as an information point for permaculture courses held in and around Frome (Somerset) and to showcase my work a felt maker and teacher of crafts using natural materials. In time, it will also host my portfolio for the Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design.

Permaculture (a design system that aims to create sustainable human habitat based on ecological principles) is the driving force of inspiration behind all my creative work. Not only does the natural world offer a wealth of amazing materials; handling and manipulating these forces the maker to observe and interact with their unique properties and question their function, a process which is also of vital importance to permaculture design.

I find myself part of a cycle, during which creative exploration constantly interacts with and reinforces the permaculture way of thinking, and the study of permaculture or ecology continues to feed the desire to open my eyes to the beauty and ingenuity of the natural world.

Wether you are interested in finding out more about permaculture and any of the courses, or would like to talk to me about a commission or running a workshop, please contact me on gladys@spiral-garden.co.uk or on 01373 467884.
